The creation of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering

banner_nauka The year 1945 – creation of Chair of General Electrical Engineering within the Department of Communications, created by the so-called. Faculties of Applied Sciences University.

In 1953 This department was transformed into a Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, who in 1954 became one of the departments of the Council of Ministers appointed by resolution of the Cracow University. Then it changed its name to the Department of Electrical Engineering Department. In 1968, at the Department of Industrial Equipment Automation Department was also created.

Oct. 1 1974 year within the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics (IEiE), which started its business based on two Betting: Industrial Electrical Engineering and Industrial Automation.

Historical Overview

  • 18/09/1975. created in the PK Department of Transportation and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics was included in its composition. In the same year he started training at the Electrical Engineering.
  • 09/01/1988. Department of Transport transformed into the Faculty of Transport and Electricity.
  • From 1.10.1991. – changing the name of the Faculty of Transport and Electrical Engineering at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, and from 1997 . at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Recent history

  1. In the year 1998 Faculty obtained the right to confer the degree of doctor of technical sciences in Electrical Engineering
  2. In the year 2002 Faculty joined the Interdepartmental Computer Science, within which opened a new field ICT systems .
  3. In the year 2004 began to interdepartmental Energy direction; under the direction opened a new field Electrical Power .
